Al Khwarizmi - Eyes and City

This may be my favourite human figure I have had the privilege of working on. Al Khwarizmi is a 2:1 sculpture, illustrating one of the key figures in the Alif: Mobility Pavilion story. I created the 3D printed eyes, and also contributed to the 3D modelling and printing of the forced perspective Baghdad city seen through Al Khwarizmi's window.

Creative Director: Andrew Thomas
Project supervisor: Jake Evill
Sculptor: Fabio Paiva
Baghdad Rhino setup: Liam Gilbertson

These are my favourite eyes I've made. The hazel colouring takes full advantage of the J750's capabilities.

Fabio Paiva did an incredible job sculpting the figure. He seems almost alive.

I assisted with the 3D tasks for forced-perspective city seen through the window. I handled the 3D models, taking them from a Rhino mockup to fully printable files.

I also textured the 3D files, adding cracks, weathering and roughness. Further texturing was then done by the amazing props team.
