Floatsmart UV Top
Floatsmart is the result of a team project with Annelies Berends and Shinji Tanaka, which aims to assist parents in monitoring their child’s safety in the water. The child wears a UV top with inbuilt flotation support, giving a small amount of assistance similar to a lifejacket or floatie, while still allowing the child to move freely.
The collar contains a bluetooth water sensor that notifies the parent’s wristband once the collar has been submerged for more than 10 seconds. This reminds the parent to check on their child. Ultimately, this product system gives children and parents confidence in the water, making safety enjoyable and unobtrusive for children.
